It is 5:22 PM on Thursday, July 25th. In my previous post I mentioned how my brain was in panic mode as my free time is about to come to an end. It is this spark, and the fact that today and tomorrow are relatively slow, that made me decide to get out and go have a beer. I thought it would be nice to have a chance of scenery, be surrounded by people, catch a little buzz and do something I haven’t done since 2016. Here is that post. The older you get the faster time flies by. It is amazing that the last time I did this was three years ago.
Three years have gone by and I couldn’t tell you too much about what happened during those three years if it wasn’t for this very blog. How useful that I can just look up a date in my past to remember my own life.
On the way here and thinking about writing this entry I found myself more in-tune with my surroundings. The first thing I saw was as I was driving down the hill and around a bend found an ambulance blocking my path. It was turning around to join a firetruck in front of a house. That served as a reminder that we should count everyday as a blessing. Someone was in trouble in that house and I hope things turn out OK for them. They were just down the street from me and I realized that although people live close by I do not know 96% of them. They will go on with their lives, I’ll go on with mine. I might pass them by in the supermarket from time to time but I will never know who the majority of them are. Isn’t that an interesting thought?
