I do plan on moving to Vietnam and if you are ever going to be there you can always stay at my place.. You are so amazing! I’m so happy for you and getting into the best school. Smart girls are so sexy.
As for the scrolls, I’m exploring the idea now. I’ve made some contact with people and I’ll keep you informed. In the meantime, best of luck with your studies and let me know where you will be staying. I have many contacts in America and I hope I would be able to introduce you to some people there so you do not feel alone.

So happy to get your letter. I should say, you are amazing!!!! I cannot believe your next move is to Vietnam. Though it seems familiar through movies, it is so far(by ‘far’, I don’t mean distance) from our normal life. To me, it’s more like a dream, a landscape painting in the dusk with the sunset. It’s great that you found another place you like to spend some time. Tell me more about your life when you move to there. You know ,I am always happy for your choices. Maybe I would look you up there and make up for my memory of Mekong River.
I just got two fellowships, one is from Columbia Univerisity–East Asian Language and Culture Department, the other is from Cornell University. I’ve not made up my mind, but very possibly I will choose Columbia. The faculty there seems much better,and because I have been to Columbia last Febrary, I found it the best fit for me.:)
As for Chinese hand painted scrolls, I think it’s a good idea. But I need more detailed information about what kind of scroll you want. Would you send me some digital pictures by email? To another email box of me(this one is much bigger)
A friend of mine is now in Shanghai, and he will return to Tokyo next Monday. Maybe he would send you some sample if you like.:)

How are you?
I haven’t heard from you in a long time! Where are you now? I’m still in Tokyo and have one more semester of Japanese study. After that I hope to move to Vietnam. I spent vacation there and really loved the country and the people. I’m currently trying to find a job there and have plenty of time to do it. Please let me know what you are up to.
Also, I have a question. I have done research and found that there is a big demand for Chinese hand painted scrolls. When I was in Tong Li, I could buy the scrolls for very cheap, only 4 dollars! I think I can sell them in America for $20 – $60. If you are in China would you be interested in helping me get the hand painted scrolls,, then I would take care of selling them and split the profit with you 50-50. I will also send you money to buy the scrolls. I’ve also designed a really cool website as well and can take care of all the internet designs. If you are too busy, could you recommend me someone who might be interested in this?
